Welcome to eProst

Welcome to eProst

Welcome to the University of Miami's Electronic Protocol Submission and Tracking system (eProst).

To log in to eProst:

  1. If you already have an eProst account, click the Login link in the upper right hand corner of this page and log in with your Cane ID username and password.
    • If you have an eProst account, but you think it may have been disabled, please contact the eProst Help Desk (eprost@med.miami.edu; 305-243-2314).

  2. If you do not yet have an eProst account, complete the New Account Request Form at the bottom of this page. You will need to have a valid C-number in order to request an account.
    • It is important that you do not create duplicate accounts. If you are unsure, please contact the eProst Help Desk (eprost@med.miami.edu; 305-243-2314).

Where is my study?

Not all active studies have been migrated to the new system. Studies that are not yet IRB-approved, or that are IRB-approved and active but have pending amendments, continuing reports, or reportable events, have not yet been migrated – these will still be found in the old system (https://eprostarchive.med.miami.edu/eprost/). Studies will be migrated once they are in a "stable" state - IRB-approved, active, and with no pending related submissions. Studies will be migrated on a nightly basis (Monday through Friday only).

To locate your studies in the NEW system:

  1. Go to https://eprost.med.miami.edu/eprost/ (that's the site you are on now) and log in.
  2. Click on the IRB link in the top left hand corner of the page.
  3. Click on the Active tab (2nd tab) to find your currently active studies, or go to the In-Review tab (1st tab) to find submissions that are currently in Pre-Submission or somewhere in the review process.

To locate your studies in the OLD system (eprost Archive):

  1. Go to https://eprostarchive.med.miami.edu/eprost/  and log in.
  2. Click on My Home.
  3. Click on the Protocols tab (next to the Inbox tab). This should show you the studies still in the old eProst system, as well as those that have been migrated. You can identify the migrated studies because the state says "(Exported)" after the name of the state.

Please be aware of the following:

  • As with the old system, your Inbox should contain only those items that are currently in progress, not items that are already approved by the IRB. Refer to the instructions above if you can't find your study.
  • Due to the complexity of the data migration process, we have only migrated certain basic information about each study into the new system. For a complete history of a migrated study, you will continue to refer back to the old eProst system. We have migrated your past Internal SAE submissions, but have not migrated any amendments, continuing reports, or other types of reportable events previously submitted.
  • We did not migrate sponsor protocol documents previously uploaded into the old eProst system. Please refer to the old eProst system for these files. The next time you submit a Modification for your study, you will need to upload a copy of the sponsor protocol; or if the study is investigator-initiated, a protocol document that you can create using the Word templates available from the IRB Library. You may also upload a PDF version of the Printer-Friendly Version of your old eProst protocol.

Announcements

  • New eProst System: The new eProst system was launched on 12/05/2013. Studies that were closed prior to 12/05/2013 will not be migrated to the new system. Studies that were active as of 12/05/2013 will be migrated to the new system, once all related amendments, continuing reports, and reportable events submitted within the old system have been approved/acknowledged by the IRB.

  • New NCI CIRB Independent Protocol Review Model: NCI CIRB has completed the University of Miami's transition from facilitated protocol review to the independent protocol review model. Unlike the previous facilitated review process in which IRB oversight was shared by the NCI CIRB and the UM IRB, the NCI CIRB will now serve as the single IRB of record for eligible, approved studies. Visit the HSRO website for further information.
